I had a question at the bottom of page 4. I didn't know what an embankment was. I guessed it was some kind of hill. This book has some interesting words.
On the last page of chap. 9 where Tuck says,"How do, Winnie Foster."I had an inference. People now don't usually say "How do", so i inferred that, since they were born a long time ago, that that's is how they used to say hello. They must of decided to keep speaking how they used to speak 87 years ago instead of how people speak now because(i inferred this too) they felt that time was moving but they weren't, so they would keep their old ways from when time was moving for them. Is that sort of confusing? Oh well...

I had a connection on page 46 when it said she had Mae's hat on and it was huge. At my Grandparent's beach house when we sit on the beach sometimes I read and the sun is in my eyes so my Grandma gives me her huge hat!
On page 46 I had a visualazation. I could visualize the pastures and the and the crickets leaping. I could just see big, open fields with tiny crickets hopping in and out of long grass blades.
In chapter 9, on pages 46 and 47, I could really visualize Winnie and the Tucks climbing the hills. The pastures, fields, with bees, and dry as a biscuit. I thought Natalie Babbitt really used a lot of descriptive words and language. Like when she said "dry as a biscuit", it reminded me of our vocabulary because we had simile as pne of our words before. I really enjoy Babbitt's work because I can visualize almost every single part right in my mind!
On page 48 I made a prediction where it said, "... Tucks head tilted to one side, his eyes went soft, and..." I made a prediction that Winnie was going to smile back because it seems like Tuck doesn't have a girl child, and from what we know, winnie doesn't have a dad so so was excited to "have" a dad, and he was exited to "be" one. That was the prediction I made.
I made a visualization on page 44 where it says, "... I made a visualization on page 44 where it says, "... Jesse gave a great whoop and leapt into the sream, spashing mightily." I made a visualization there because my dad does exactly what Jesse did all the time when he goes into water, so I could just see Jesse do it in my mind.
On page 50 I had a prediciton in the very first pa... On page 50 I had a prediciton in the very first paragraph. It said that Winnie grew up with order in the house. My mom and dad are very big on keeping the house neat. It's pretty neat and clean...most of the time. Publish Reject
I had a vizulisasion of how clean it was in the house. That also made me think that the Fosters were very strict and mean they must be to have a clean house like that. inless they clean every secound someone walks in. That makes a big diffrence betwwen the tucks.
I had a prediction at the beginning of the 45th page. The quote was "Closing the gate on her oldest fears, as she closed the gate of her own fenced yard, she discovered the wings she always wished she had had." My prediction is that winnie wants to become immortal and live with the tucks.
Page:46 Paragraph:1 Connection Bigphillip says: As I was reading this book I though about the following sentence "It camedown far over her ears and gave her a clownish appearance, but the shade from its brim was so welcome that Winnie put vanity aside and dozed gratefully in Miles's strong arms, her own arms wound around his neck. When I was a little kid my father used to carry me and I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck, because I love him very much.
I had an inference at the end of the of the 47th page. The quote was "The graceful arms of the pines reached out in every direction." My inference was that since the arms of the pines include the needles, I would not call the pines graceful, I would call them pointy and sharp.
I had a connection on page 47 when it said Queen Anne's lace lay dusty on the surface of the meadows like foam on a painted sea. On one of my model railroading books it showed a forest out of Quee Anne's lace.
i had a connection when his head tilted to the side and his eyes went soft because my cousin stares into space alot and so do i so it made me think about him.
On page 47 I could see Winnie, Mae, Miles and Jesse climbing hill and another hill right after. Last summer, I got to hike up a Mt. trail . I was really tired because we had been hiking for 2 hours with only a few seconds break and then it stared to rain and thunder so we had to go all the way back down the trail. It was very tiring!
why onthe last page of the chapter did Mr.Tuck say that seeing Winnie was the best thing that happend to him in 80 years. Maybie he wanted her to feel specail.
On the first paragraph I had a visualization of the "August Sun rolled up ,hung up at mid-heaven for a blinding hour, and at last wheeled westward before the journey was done."
i had a connection on page 47. it was where it said "are we almost there yet?" my connection was that on a long trip,i would always say are we there yet?
Inferrence Page 46 Sentence:But Winnie was exhausted long before that.Miles carried her some of the way.
I inferred that Winnie had been running, yelling and swinging her arms for quite a long period of time to make her be carried.I also inferred from that, that she didnt have much energy ever to do anything for long.
At the last page of chapter 9 when they were describing Angus Tuck I was inferring that he was a grumpy man after the first part about him and the way he was described then. It turns out that he was actually a nice man and was willing to meet Winnie.

on page 48, 2nd paragraph, it seems as though winnie is saying "oh,look wwater! in a way like water is a sacred jewel because it's so hot out.
I had a Question on page 49 , why was seeing Winnie the best or finest thing that ever happend to Tuck in at least eighty years?

I had a connection about queens anne lace is my favorite kind of wild flower it is beautiful
i had a connection when his head tilted to the side and his eyes went soft because my cousin stares into space alot and so do i so it made me think about him.
boblee says i made a star to tell something was important. i thought that it was important thet winnie knew the tucks could live forever.
I had a visualization on page 46 about there house I pictured it as a nice little welcoming shack with a lot of junk outside.
on page 49 I made a connection because Winnie said are wew there yet. I say that alot when we go on long car rides. I know how Winnie felt.
just before they reached the house i wonderede howw tuck would react to winnie. would he mad they had told her? he was negetivelast chapter.
turns out he was sora happy, oops. i sorta predicted he would be mad.
On page 47 I could see Winnie, Mae, Miles and Jesse climbing hill and another hill right after. Last summer, I got to hike up a Mt. trail . chapter 9 page 46 line 15 I had a prediction when the book said were vigorous bees I predicted that they would get stung by bees.
I had a picture in my mind of Tuck, Jesse, and Mae running home with their cheeks all red and they were huffing and puffing.
